Transactions, reporting and billing
Reader payments and your publication's Wallkit bill answer different questions. Choose the guide for the record you need.
Choose the right guide
| Question | Admin area | Start here |
|---|---|---|
| What happened to a reader's payment record? | Transactions | Find and understand a transaction |
| What do the publication's payment and subscriber summaries mean? | Dashboard → Advanced statistics | Read payment reports |
| What has Wallkit billed the publication? | Billing | Understand your publication's billing |
For City Journal, Alex's subscription payment belongs in Transactions. City Journal's invoice for its Wallkit service belongs in Billing. Neither record alone establishes whether Alex can read an article.
Follow the reader's access separately
Use Audience and memberships to find the reader and inspect their membership. Use Plans, subscriptions and access rules to understand the content that the configured subscription can make available.
A transaction record, a membership and a content-access decision are separate pieces. Dashboard summaries help explain trends; they do not establish a bank balance or settlement.
