Create a Plan
A Plan groups subscription choices around content-access rules. This walkthrough creates City Journal Reporting, ready for its rules and monthly and annual subscriptions.
Before you begin
Confirm that City Journal is the publication shown in the Admin header and that you have the appropriate Admin access. Decide which content readers should be able to access. If you are still preparing, use Before you set up your publication.
Create the Plan
- In the left navigation, open the plans area between Groups and Tickets & Events.
- Select Add new plan.
- Enter the basic settings below. Leave unrelated settings unchanged.
| Setting | City Journal example | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Title | City Journal Reporting | Names the Plan. A title is required. |
| Active | No while preparing | Keeps this Plan inactive during setup. |
| Public | Yes | Prepares the Plan for normal public subscription listings when it is active. |
| Description | Access to City Journal reporting | Optional explanation of the Plan. |
- In Access rules, check Full access to all content. It is on for a new Plan. For this reporting selection, turn it off and leave predictive paywall off. The classification controls will appear.
- Select Save at the bottom of the Plan page.
Turning off Full access lets you configure selective rules. It does not, by itself, define which content readers can read. Understand content access rules shows how to select the reporting content.
Check the saved Plan
Return to the plans list and open the Plan using its ID. Check that the title, Active and Public settings, description and Full access setting match your choices. If saving shows an error, resolve it before continuing.
The saved Plan is a configuration record. Creating it does not create a reader membership, publish a checkout or connect your website to Wallkit.
Your next step
Configure the content access rules, then add subscriptions to the Plan. Keep the Plan inactive while preparing. Before making it available, agree the intended access and subscription settings with the person responsible for your publication's integration.
